A Letter to Our Youth...

Dear friends!

First of all we want to thank you so much for the incredibly kind good bye you gave us! Dre has tested her colouring book, and Josh is loving the flip-flops! And we LOVE our books and dvds :)

We are so grateful for all of you! You have blessed us more than you could ever possibly know!

We have left a few things in the youth room for you! All the books in there are left for you, so borrow them and share them as much as you like, whenever you like, they now belong to YOU! There are a few trinkets on the mantle piece, we hope they will bring you Joy! Dre has made two framed bits of art/scripture for you guys and we have left a little tree of encouragement for you, as well as some photos! Everything else (board games, craft stuff, dressing up stuff etc) is yours to use however you like! Enjoy!

We love you guys SO much and are so excited to share with you guys our African journeys. We are so encouraged by you guys and are so excited to see how God has worked and is working in each of your lives. You guys have a great opportunity to share God with the people around you by the way you love each other, love your families, love the church, and love them.

We just want to finally encourage you that no greater life can be lived, than a life devoted to loving Jesus and loving others! It's truly the best journey, EVER. We believe in you and we love you!

The Tail End of Summer...

Well, it's been a phenomenal last two weeks! First, reports on Spark in the Park...

Spark was ACE!!! We had around 1800 people a day, and with more inflatables up this year, we managed to have something for each of them to do! Our afternoon 'Spiritual Surges' were well attended, and amazing conversations about God were had. We had 20 volunteers from Holy Trinity, and it was a privilege to serve with them all! We've been very blessed to have been a part of the Spark leadership team for the past three years, and we hope and pray that God raises up new leaders to take it even further!

Then, we packed up and left for Coventry Youth Camp! Our overall theme was Toy Story - looking at what it means for us to journey together and pursue God, and keep a right attitude in the midst of it all, so we looked to the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 for insight throughout the week. Again, we had a large number from HTC join us, and it was a beautiful way to finish our time in Cov - praying, worshipping, learning and laughing alongside our favourite people :)

SPARK IN THE PARK!!!

Spark in the Park is THIS WEEK! We can't believe it's already here! Here's the information you need to know:

WHAT: Spark in the Park is a families outreach in Memorial Park. Parents, Grandparents, Carers, whoever, can come on down with their children for craft, games, sports, face painting, inflatables, and general FUN!

WHEN: This week, Monday 16th until Friday 20th, from 1:30pm until 4:30pm each day.

WHERE: Memorial Park - if your back is to Kenilworth Road, and you're looking at the cafe, we're just to the right of the cafe. We've got a few large marquees and a bunch of inflatables, so you won't miss us!

WHY: We want to love the families of Coventry with the love of God.

WHAT ELSE? Each evening, there's another special event! We want children to be able to share Spark with other family members that may be at work during the day, and we want to be able to spend some quality time with the families, and to help families have fun together! So, each evening from 6:30-8:30pm, there's something extra. Monday night is a Quiz Night, Tuesday is Tourney Night, Wednesday is Family Fun Night (run by us!), Thursday is Disco Night and Friday is the Spark's Got Talent Show!

Come on down and visit us! We have nearly 20 volunteers from Holy Trinity, and another 70 from other local churches. Dre is in charge of face painting, so you'll find her in the small marquee with the large queue outside it, and Josh is in charge of sports, so you'll find him in a field with a whistle!

Today we got to invite some fantastic youth over to the youth room and we practiced painting faces in preparation for Spark in the Park. It was a joyous afternoon - Josh was a bunny with one robot arm and one Shrek arm, and Dre was Spiderman with flowery and camouflage arms. We love our job, and are thankful for the opportunities we have to live life with fantastic young people. That's all :)

Golly gee...we're tired! It's been a very busy summer so far, and it's only getting busier! We're preparing for Spark in the Park and for Coventry Youth Camp - two things that we work all year round on, and two things that WE LOVE!

So, we'd love for you to pray for us, and with us! Please pray:

For us to have wisdom and discernment as we make decisions as part of the Spark and Camp leadership teams
For us to rest well as we work hard!
For our future plans, as Dre prepares to head to Kenya and Josh prepares to head to Uganda - we're very busy making plans for those things, in addition to wrapping up here. There's lots to be done!
For Spark and Camp to be places where people encounter God's love in a real and clear way!
For all our amazing volunteers for both events - pray for peace and courage as we step up to what God's called us to do!

Dear friends,

As some of you may know, we are both nearing the end of our contracts with Holy Trinity. Both of us have taken a lot of time to pray through what it is that God has for us at this point in our lives. We have both decided that we will be moving on from Holy Trinity at the end of August. We have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of the HTC youth and children’s work over the last few years and we hugely value the relationships that we have built and know that this is by no means the end – just a new beginning!

In a few weeks time, Josh will be graduating with a Bachelors of Theology and Applied Youthwork from International Christian Youthworks UK. Holy Trinity has been an intricate part of his training and has helped to mould him into the youth and children’s worker he is today. In October, he will moving to Uganda to serve with a ministry called Revelation Life (www.revelationlife.org.uk). He will be there for a year, running street clubs, providing immediate relief and aid, and helping with a slum relocation project, in addition to providing lecturing and mentoring for Revelation Life’s internship program. He is very excited to use the skills he’s gained over the past few years to invest in the lives of the youth and children of Uganda!

Dre's plans for the autumn aren't yet decided, but after much prayer she feels God is moving her on to be involved more international youth and children’s work, helping to encourage and train others in new models of ministry. She is currently praying through a number of opportunities that include Kenya, the USA, England, and wider Europe. Please pray with her as she makes her final decisions.

We will both be finishing at the end of August, and will still be involved in Spark in the Park and Coventry Youth Camp. We’ll be spending the coming weeks and months helping the church and other city projects transition to other leadership. We are both sad to be leaving Coventry, but confident that our ties here will remain strong, and that God has a plan! We will continue to share more as we finalize plans – we’d love for you all to involved in whatever we get up to from here J If you have any questions, any time, please ask us!

Volcanos Everywhere!

So.....how many of you have been directly affected by the volcano? How many of you know someone who has been affected by it? Seriously, this is crazy; there are aparently 150,000 British people stuck overseas because of this thing. So, planes don't fly for 5 days and the world falls into this nightmarish world of disorganisation where no one can do anything but sit and wait for a volcano to stop having tantrums. What a mess.

Ok, think for a minute or two about what would life look like after:

5 days with no phones
5 days with no internet
5 days with no cars

What about 5 days without God?!?! There, we said it! How much of a impact would it have to not talk to God for five days? How much should it have? If we claim that God is the centre of our lives, the light to our paths etc...do we need Him as much as we pretend we need Him? Is God actually as important to us as we think He is? He should be our everything, our source of strength, wisdom, guidance, fun, joy...

Ponder that with us this week :)

Some Easter thoughts...

Here's a few thoughts from us at Easter time...

1. A youth worker friend asked Dré how to explain resurrection to year 7s. Her response was "JESUS WINS. The end." And it's just so true! Struggling with anything? Well, we don't want to spoil the ending for you...but Jesus wins. Just let Him.

2. Dre went to the Lake District for a week with friends and went to Beatrix Potter's house! Simply inspiring to visit the maker of Peter Rabbit's very own home! The photo above is from her antics :)

3. Josh went to adventure in the snowy mountains of France with his family and undoubtedly skied better than Dré can even walk. He is a ski champ.

4. We're entering the infamous post Easter holidays gear up to SUMMER! Woop woop! We've got SPARK IN THE PARK and Coventry YOUTH CAMP - plenty to plan for, and trust us, they'll be AMAZING!

5. If you think of it...pray for us! We've got a crazy busy next 4 months as we prepare summer things and also develop what we're already doing even more. Pray that we are continually physically, emotionally and spiritually refreshed as we share God's love with those around us. Pray for wisdom and discernment as we make decisions about how we do that! Pray that we're supplied with what we need when we need it.

Today we visited Ravensdale in Primary School in Wyken. We visited 60 year 4s who were studying 'Christianity in Action' in their RE classes. They were amazing! We were there to share a little about our faith and our jobs, then to be interviewed by the kids. They had fantastic questions and were so respectful and interested!

Some of our favourite questions were...

What bits of the Bible do you read and how often?
What's the Holy Spirit?
When and where do you pray?
Why do babies get Christened?
Is there anything special you eat or don't eat?

Well, we get ready for busy weekends like this one! Tomorrow night, we'll be a part of the Spark in the Park Reunion (check out the post below!), which we're really excited about! On Sunday morning we'll be enjoying a legendary Kids Praise session during our 9:30am service, where we'll be exploring prayer. We'll then head off to our 11am service, where we'll continue on our journey through The Jesus Storybook of the Bible, which we LOVE! On Sunday evening, we're heading off to St Mary The Abbey Church in Nuneaton to lead a youth service there. We'll be talking about love! Pray for us through this busy and hopefully very impactful weekend!

There's snow! Hoorah!!!

It's been quite a busy 6 weeks - Dre headed back to the States to renew her visa and got to spend Christmas with her family for the first time in 6 years - Praise the LORD! It was ace! She very much missed the HTC kids and youth though! Josh held down the fort in Cov and headed home to Devon for Christmas with the family.

And now, we're off at an ICY Conference, our first of 2010. We're at the Pioneer Centre just outside Kidderminster, and it's nice and toasty inside :) We're loving enjoying the snow in our breaks, but really do wish we could be enjoying snow days in Cov with the youth!

Baptisms Woooooohoooooooo and Confirmations Yippeeeeee!

This past Sunday Alick, Jonnie and Joe all got baptised. They all shared fantastic testamonies, in which they explained why they were making the choice to follow Jesus. Brilliant Stuff!

Also this comming saturday, Alick, Jonnie, Joe, Matthew, Arnold, Robyn, Sian, Olivia and Katherine are all Getting confirmed by the Bishop. We have all been preparing for the last two months. It is all very exciting and we are overflowing with pride.

Looking forward to the weekend. Woooooooooooooooooooooo!

Hey folks...guess what's coming back?

JUNCTION 7!!!

Woop woop! It's gone through a bit of a refurb - and we're excited to kick off the new year of Junction 7-ness! Our first one will be Sunday, 25th October. We're calling it “J7 [up]lift[ed]“, and it will be happening on the 4th Sunday of every month in term time, from 7:30-9:15pm. And, we've got a new venue! Nexus! (71 Albany Road, Coventry)

It is hoped that this event will work to complement current church youth ministries across the City and create an atmosphere where young people feel free to engage with God and be equipped to live out a radical Godly lifestyle in front of their peers at home & in school.We basically want to help you guys build momentum in your relationships with God and others by providing space for worship, teaching, prayer - all aimed at helping YOU engage with God and the people around you.

If you want to get involved in anyway, we'd love to hear from you! Want to help lead something? Run powerpoint? Hoover? Carry things? Smile a lot? Help with videos? Anything you'd like, just let us know!

This Week...

Yesterday, we spent time in Blue Coat School with students as we all processed the death of Natalie Morton.

No, it doesn't make sense, and no, we don't have a clue why God would let something like this happen. All we know is that God loves us. He loved us on Sunday and Monday when we were happy and smiley, and He loved us yesterday as we wrestled with loss, sat with our friends, and cried. He loves us today, and we continue to question and to wonder how He can let someone so young and so precious slip away from us. He will love us tomorrow as we begin to look to the days to come, days that are now different because of the course this week has taken.

No, it doesn't make sense, and no, we don't know why God does what He does. But yes, we do know, maybe even more so now, that God loves us. He is with us. And for that we are grateful. God doesn't mind our questions, our confusion, even our anger. He only asks that we bring all those things to Him, and let Him put our minds and hearts to rest.

Continue to pray for Natalie's family, her friends at Blue Coat and at Meredith Road Baptist. Please know that we're here if you need to talk!

Confirmation Course :)

Today we start a confirmation course for those interested in being confirmed! We'll go through some of the basics of Christianity and tackle some big questions - then a Confirmation service will be held at the Cathedral on 21st November. Cov Youth Camp!

So, it's been a little while since we've blogged, because we've been catching our breath after all the amazing summer things! There will be many posts to come :) Another thing we can tell you about is...Coventry Youth Camp!!!

Hooraaaaaaayyyyy! It was absolutely ace! Our theme this year was MINISTRY OF MISSION, and we looked at different aspects of this throughout the week. Around 100 campers and leaders headed to Oswestry Boarding School the last week of August, and we're pretty sure Oswestry will never be the same! This year we tried a few new things, like a HUNT THE LEADER afternoon in Oswestry town centre, and a MYSTERY NIGHT that resulted in leaders Greg, Dre, Josh and Angie dying (we promise no leaders were harmed in the making of Mystery Night!). We were challenged a whole bunch, and we're psyched about what life looks like now! Woop woop!

Spark in the Park!!!

Spark in the Park was this past week, and it ROCKED! We had a bunch of volunteers from Holy Trinity and tons from all over Coventry - woop woop! We had literally thousands of people join us for craft, sports, facepainting, inflatables and fun! We were open from 1:30-4:30pm, Monday through Saturday, and had a Family Fun Night (run by Josh and Dre!) on Wednesday evening, a Tournament Night on Thursday evening and the Spark's Got Talent show on Friday evening, co-hosted by Dre. It was absolutely amazing!

We want to say a HUGE thank you to those of you from HTC that came to help out - we were so encouraged by your willingness to volunteer with us on something we've put so much time into over the year. You were a gigantic blessing to us, and to the people you served. THANK YOU!!!

We've been kind of quiet lately on the blog, and many apologies for that! We've had our fair share of difficulties over the last couple weeks, and we'd very much appreciate your prayers! We're kicking into high gear with Spark in the Park and Coventry Youth Camp preparations, and sometimes it all gets a bit much - which is when we take a deep breath, sit back in our chairs and watch something like this to keep us smiling...

What?
Coventry Youth Camp is a great opportunity to have loads of fun, get to know new people and learn more about God.

When?
The camp will take place between the 24th and the 29th August.

How Much?
It only costs £110 for an amazing week of amazingness. The cost includes coach travel, delicious food, a phenomenal programme and tremendous amounts of fun.

Sunshine and Snoozes...

God is creative.

Yesterday, we saw lightening strike across the sky, we heard and felt thunder roar, and today, we are warmed by the rays of the amazing sunshine. Inbetween the thunder and the sunshine, Coventry got darker, cooler, and the city rested for the night. Sleep is a wonderful thing. It gives our bodies a chance to recharge - we can't just tell our bodies to keep going, we must stop, relax, breath deeply and rest. Not a bad thing. And God awakes us with the sunshine (or, to be fair, awakes us with a slightly lighter than night grey sky), and gives us a new day to experience, full of new mercy, new grace, and more time.

No, it's not bad at all. Thanks God.

Spark in the Park!

Hey guys!

It's time for us to start thinking about Spark in the Park - woohoo! Spark is a city wide outreach that happens in the War Memorial Park, from August 10th to the 16th. Each day, from 1:30-4:30pm, we'll have face painting, amazing crafts, sports, massive inflatables, songs and storytime, along with a host of other amazingly fun activities for the whole family! There's also evening activities for the whole family on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. Spark is run by a bunch of local churches, including Holy Trinity. We (Dre & Josh) are on the Executive Committee for it, which means we help put the whole thing together.

To make it all happen, we need a ton of volunteers, around 100 each day! If you're aged 14+ and can put a smile on your face, we've got a role for you! Email us at YouthMinister@holytrinitycoventry.org.uk and we'll send you an application form and answer any questions you have. We need all kinds of people, including people willing to provide security on site at night - so get in touch, and SPREAD THE WORD!

Josh's Drum-a-thon!

Josh, along with 17 other drummers from Nexus (the Christian Music College in Coventry), set out to break the Guiness World record for Team Endurance Drumming...the record stood at 60 hours, and had previously been won by Nexus a number of times. They started drumming at 9am on Sunday, 3rd May, and finished at 3am on Wednesday, 6th May, with a GUINESS WORLD RECORD BREAKING 66 HOURS!!! Hooray! They drummed non-stop for those 66 hours, having only minuscule breaks. They endured sleeplessness to the core. All in all, 11 drummers made it to the record breaking 66 hours, including Josh. Well done Josh!!!

ICY Conference and...JUNCTION 7!!!

Phew, it's been a long couple weeks! We've been pretty busy, but it's all been ace :) First off, we went to another of our ICY conferences, and this time we were in Moreton on Marsh, just 45 minutes south of here. We had a fantastic week of lectures, and were really encouraged by the teaching we received. Dre led a morning session, and the whole conference centred around Character - a very important thing to ponder on!

When we came back, we hit the ground running and went into JUNCTION 7 mode - we launched the very first Junction 7 this past Saturday! Junction 7 is an outreach based youth event, with a concentration on media and interactive-ness (for lack of a better word!). It's held at Elim Pentecostal Church off junction 7 (coincidence?) and is the first Saturday of the month during term time, from now until the forseeable future. If you'd like more info on Junction 7, just shoot us an email! We can also send some flyers your way. It's for young people to bring their unchurched friends to, so get praying about who you can bring! We thoroughly enjoyed our first event, and are psyched to be a part of it as it grows. And if you attended our first event, we'd love some feedback - what did you like, what would you have wanted to see that wasn't there, what would you do differently? Help us help you! :)

Blue Coat Year 7 Communion

Today Dré and Josh had the opportunity to take part in Blue Coat's Year 7 Communion Service, led by Father Paul, the school chaplain. As chaplain of year 7, Dré was invited to give a talk on the subject of the morning, which was peace. We thought about all the things we have in common - love, joy, pain, suffering, hearts that beat and lungs that breath...and we thought about what the Bible has to say about peace. "Make every effort to live at peace with all men and to be holy. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord." (Hebrews 12:14) Father Paul played the fantastic video below to get us all thinking about what peace might look like... (Grandpa Elliot is our fav!!!)

We've been busy over the holidays - Josh headed home to Devon to spend Christmas and New Year's with his family, and Dré enjoyed Christmas with friends in Coventry before heading down to London to meet some old friends for New Years. It was a very refreshing time for both of us!

When we returned to Coventry, we headed off again to our first ICY Conference of 2009 - and it was fantastic! It was a great time to catch up with our European team, and to focus in on this new year.

As many of you will know Dre is from America and in America on the 4th Thursday of November every year they celebrate something called Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a time for families to get together, celebrate each other and eat loads of delicious food. Thursday will be a bank holiday in the States, and kids will have Friday off of school. It is an overall great day to remember all that we are thankfull for.

Where Have We Been?

Hello everyone. First of all, great big massive apologies for not posting anything in the last month. It has been a busy time. Let us tell you about that. Josh went home to Devon for a little bit over half term which was great, then went to ICY conference, which was in the Cotswolds on a big farm, and he learnt a lot. Dré unfortunately had to fly home for a family funeral, but was able to spend some quality time with her family, which she very much appreciated. Her 2 year old niece and nephew can say 'Auntie' now!

So, we're back into the swing of things, and are about to get ready for Thanksgiving, Dre's birthday (it's a big one!) and for Christmas! Hooray!

Cathedral Cell Groups

Each Monday night, we head over to the Methodist Central Hall to work alongside Keith Parr, Youth Minister at Cov Cathedral, and his trusty sidekicks, Beaver and Ash, who are at the Cathedral on placement whilst doing a degree, similar to Josh's story. From 4-6pm we hang out, watch movies and play pool, then split up for cell group. Ash and Dré run one group, and Keith, Beaver and Josh work with the other. We love getting to hang out with them and work alongside our neighbours!!! (cheesy, but true)

Blue Coat Commemoration Service

Today Dré spoke at the Blue Coat School Commemoration Service, held at our lovely church. All of year 7 and year 8 came, which totalled about 400 kids! The award winning Blue Coat Choir sang three gorgeous songs and we were led in worship by Josh and Hannah, two very good friends of ours. Dré shared about where we come from (NOT where babies come from however), and spoke about looking to God's Word for our identity. We loved hosting the year 7s & 8s, and hope we get to do it again soon!

Cov Youth Camp :)

Coventry Youth Camp was phenomenal! Dre and Josh were joined by 12 young people from Holy Trinity, and around 100 others from all over Coventry. Josh was in front of camp each morning and evening for "Josh vs Sarah" challenges, which included a baby food eating contest, drinking coke through someone else's gross dirty sock, writing and performing a song, running a fashion show, and the penultimate Great Big Battle on the last day. Josh also co-led a small group of year 7s with Charlie Turner (yes, THE Charlie Turner!). Dre co-led a small group of year 11s, oversaw the afternoon and evening activities (which included a gospel choir, a junk band, cookery amazingness, a disco and a Tuesday Night Takeaway) as well as putting her first aiding skills to good use.

It was an amazing week, and we look forward to sharing more and hearing more stories of what God did and is doing!

Coventry Youth Camp's coming!

On Sunday, we leave for Oswestry to set up Coventry Youth Camp! Over 100 teens from all over Coventry will join us on Monday. Dré is serving on the Core Team this year, which has taken a whole lot of planning!! Whist on camp, she'll be leading a small group, co-coordinating the afternoon activities and presenting and coordinating the after hours activities, and being First Aider on call. Josh will also be leading a small group, and will be co-presenting the morning sessions (in front of all of camp!), and will put his drumming skills to use by helping to teach a Junk Band funshop!

We're really excited about camp! This year's theme is Tranformers - Romans 12:1-8. Have a read and please pray for us this coming week!

(and please be patient with us if we seem asleep for the couple weeks after that - it might take us awhile to recover from our summer!)

CY Residential:
Josh led the 11-14s in a great residential - look in our past posts for more details!

Hillfields Mission:
Keith Parr and his youth team at the Cathedral worked to do a mission in Hillfields with Hope Church, and it was a great success! They cleared gardens, hosted a Tea Dance for the older folk (we were very impressed with Keith and his team's dancing skills!), hosted kid's club evenings, and hosted a BBQ with inflatables, among other things. We don't claim to have done any of the hard work, we just showed up and said "Well done!" to the great team of adults and teens that shared the love of Jesus in Hillfields.

New Wine:
We spent a week with others from the church in rainy rainy Shepton Mallet, and it was great! It was fantastic to spend time with the families, and great to soak in some really inspirational teaching and get some sweet new ideas for youth and children's ideas!

This week we're off to New Wine! For those that haven't been before, New Wine is a fantastic Christian holiday conference, with great teaching for adults, teens and kids. With seminars, massive big top worship and teaching times, cool cafes and tons of people staying in tents, it's a great week away. We're looking forward to joining the crew from Holy Trinity this week!

Spark in the Park success!!!

Hey all! This past week we were a part of Spark in the Park; Memorial Park to be exact! Over 100 volunteers from churches such as Holy Trinity (woop woop!), Christian Life Ministries, Queen's Road Baptist Church, Bethel and Elim, came together to provide crafts, games, sports, facepainting, songs and stories each day this past week.

From 1:3o-4pm, we gathered near the Park and Ride with a few marquees and inflatables and had an amazing time! Over 300 kids and their families joined us each day! There's a 'Spiritual Surge' time each afternoon where the children and parents learned about someone in the Bible who'd gone through a tough time and had cried out "I'm a believer, get me out of here!", which was the week's theme. We were reminded that God has a plan for us, and He loves us, even when the going gets tough. And during one such Spiritual Surge, Josh was 'gunged' - pictures to follow soon!

On Wednesday night, your very own Dré and Josh lead the Family Fun Night, which included relays, team games and quiz rounds. On Thursday evening there was a football tournament, and on Friday night, Dré and Sarah Harrison, assistant minister at Queen's Road Baptist Church, co-hosted the Spark Factor Talent Show!

It was a great opportunity to share our lives with families from all walks of life, and we are so grateful we've been able to serve on the Executive Committee for such an amazing feat. We really look forward to next year's Spark, and hope to get many more of you involved!

CY Residential and end!

This past weekend we had our Christianity Explored (CY) course's residential! Josh and our friend Jo Key from Coventry Youth for Christ led our enthusiastic 11-13 yr olds in games, building (with cocktail sticks and sausages), baking, great talks and plenty of fun.

Then last night, we had our last session for this year's CY course. Everyone recieved a certificate for completing the course, and we've absolutely loved running it! Look for more things like this to come in the near future!

These conferences are when Josh sits in lectures for his Bachelor's in Theology and Youth Work degree, and Dre provides some pastoral and practical support for the trainees and staff. Sweet. Spark in the Park!

From 28th July til 1st August, we'll be at Spark in the Park, which will be awesome! Spark is a drop in holiday club hosted by Coventry churches in Memorial Park. Every day that week, from 1-4pm, we'll have face painting, crafts, inflatables, sports activities, music, drama, and all things fun! Parents/guardians/carers are asked to stay and enjoy the fun with the children. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, there will be special events for families to enjoy, including a quiz night, football tournaments and the Spark Factor talent show!

If you've got a day or two free and could help, please let us know! We need crafty people, facepainters, tea makers, security folks, set up and tear down helpers, sporty dudes, and all kinds of people! And if you have kids or know kids, bring them along!

Christianity Explored is going Great!

Hey guys

This is just a post to say how awesome our monday night CY course is going, and how we think you should all come. (if you are within the ages of 11-14)

So each Monday since the 2nd of June we have been running a Christianity Explored course. Basically Christianity Explored is a study on the life of Jesus, by looking at the book of Mark, and having lots of fun and games and delicious food. For example last Monday we had a meal, then played some interesting, fun and crazy games in the garden, and then did the whole Bible study on a trampoline.

We have been having loads of fun and have been learning a lot together and would love you to see you guys, so if you are free on a Monday night and are between the ages of 11 and 14, come along. It will be great I promise!

Dré has been to America!

Hey y'all! Dré here, and I'm back in town after just over two great weeks with my family. I spent a few days in Raleigh, North Carolina, which is where my mom, brother, sister in law and niece and nephew live, and where it seems the sun shines all the time! My niece and nephew, Lauren and Alex, are 20 months old now, and it was great to see them run and play! And my dad got married! It was a privilege to be a part of the ceremony.

Christianity Explored

Hey guys!

Are you between ages 11 and 14? In June, we’ll be starting a Christianity Explored course for you! Yes, you! Christianity Explored is a seven week course, designed to be interactive, with a creative mix of Bible study, talks, games, activities and discussion time, to get us thinking about who God is and why He matters. We’ll meet at the Sidebotham’s house (30 Osborne Rd, Coventry, CV5 6DY) each week, and we’ll start off by having dinner together. We’ll meet at 6:30 and finish by 8:30, on Monday nights. All the dates are below, including a week off and our weekend away (details on that to follow!). Each week will follow on from the previous week, so make sure you can make all (or at least most) of them! And it’s totally awesome if you want to invite friends – we promise it’ll be really cool.

Hey Guys.

We have just arrived back from our 5 day ICY conference, which we have every other month, which is where Josh recieves his degree training and Dre helps to coordinate aspects of the training. We are returning from the conference feeling very refreshed and inspired.

Dre got back from Austria on Tuesday night, and drove strait to conference in shropshire. She had a fantastic time, and has loads of great kids work ideas to share when she gets back from the states...

Bright and early on Monday morning Dre will be flying back to the USA, to visit family, friends, and attend her dads wedding. She is very excited to see toddler twin neice and nephew, and the rest of her family and friends. She returns to England on June the 5th.
